I always think of design as a combination of art, science and philosophy. Honestly I don't know if there is a correct way of defining it, or if it really has a definition. After literally falling in love so many times for so many different things in life, I stopped trying to use exact words to name non-exact concepts. And since everything has a bit of everything else in it, sometimes a small detail can turn everything upside down...

3 and a half years after being born in Africa, Mozambique, I was taken to Portugal, where I spent my childhood and adolescence being educated with a serious hope that, as a smart kid with premature interest in science, I would someday become a successful investigator, or something as charming as that (from a parental point of view). But when a kid's mind stumbles across something new and unexpected, important changes can take place. At the age of 10, I started having music classes, learning piano and music theory with an experienced teacher, well known for her respectable background and knowledge.

That led me to a whole new world where art wasn't just a silly waste of time. Soon I started writing my own words and making my own music. I continued showing some skills in maths and science in general, but my brain already started changing from science to art mode. Aged 14, I naturally continued expanding my expression capabilities, learning to play guitar, self taught. My interests on computers also switched from programming to design with CAD/3D software, Paint Phop Pro and obviously Adobe Photoshop. The next step was learning Flash and Dreamweaver to get into design for the web, and buying a digital camera. Soon I started doing some personal webpage designs. Years later I was admitted in the IST (Instituto Superior Técnico) to study Multimedia & Computer Engineering.

At the present day, several projects are still going on, as I'm trying to use everything I learned and achieved in the past to get closer to everything I plan to achieve in the future.
